Alpha Pharma's Anazole (Arimidex) is a non-steroidal drug used to treat breast cancer. It has been thoroughly studied in women with breast cancer between the ages of 5-8. Decades of life. There are some types of breast cancers that depend on estrogen for growth. Anazole (Arimidex) works by suppressing the levels of estrogen in the body, thereby reducing the growth of breast cancer. The drug is first line treatment in postmenopausal women with early breast cancer or in those with advanced breast cancer despite taking tamoxifen. Arimidex is often combined with other medicines to treat breast cancer in postmenopausal women. The drug has been used to treat early or advanced breast cancer in women of all cultures and races.

Anastrozole has three general indications: Anastrozole is recommended for the treatment of postmenopausal women who have early breast cancer that is hormone sensitive (estrogen positive); Anastrozole is also indicated as a first line treatment for postmenopausal women who have spread breast cancer, either locally or systemically, regardless of the hormonal status of the breast cancer; Anastrozole is also indicated in the treatment of advanced breast cancer in postmenopausal women who have continued growth of breast cancer after treatment with tamoxifen. Women who do not have estrogen receptor positive breast cancer and those who do not respond to tamoxifen generally do not respond to anastrozole.
