Acyclovir Indikationen: HSV-Infektion der Haut zB initiale & rezidivierende Genitalherpes & Herpes labialis.
Dosage: Apply 5 times a day about 4 hrly omitting the night dose. Continue for 5 or 10 days if healing does not occur.
Zovirax cream is used for: Treating cold sores on the face or lips caused by the herpes virus. It can also be used for other conditions as determined by your doctor.
Zovirax cream is an antiviral. It works by stopping viral replication.
However, Zovirax cream does not eliminate the herpes virus, it is not a cure, and it does not prevent it from being transmitted to others.
Application of Zovirax cream:
Wash your hands with soap and water before and after using Zovirax cream. Wash the affected area and dry completely.
Apply the medication only to the affected area, not the surrounding skin. Gently rub the medicine in until it disappears.
Wash your hands after using Zovirax cream.
Do not rub the cold sore. Rubbing the cold sore can make it worse. It can also cause the cold sore to spread to other areas around the mouth. To completely eliminate your infection, use Zovirax cream for the full course of treatment. Keep it up even if you feel better in a few days. For best results, use Zovirax cream at the first sign of a cold sore (tingling, redness, itching, or bumps).
If you miss a dose of Zovirax cream, use it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not use 2 doses at once.
